Something to think about, the old saying... you are what you eat. On a recent raod trip we were very disapointed and felt sickly after forgetting about how lucky we are to eat like we do. We forgot about how its almost impossible to find a decent meal nowdays unless you grow and prepare it yourself. Sure is a lot of food out there, all the fast food joints, even the small mom and pop restaurants serve food that has no or little flavor, seems profit is more important than quality or nutrition, which is not even thought about by most people, as long as it tastes good. Most fctory foods have little taste or nutrition, so salt and other ingredents are added to enhance flavor. We avoid foods that contain High Fruitcose Corn Syrup, its in a lot of foods these days, as well as preserved prosessed foods that are the norm of a lot of unsuspecting people who do not understand how vital nutrition is for health and vigor. were sold a bunch of junk foods from the beginining, if it has to be advertised to sell perhaps its not so good for you, how often do you see  spinich or other healthy alternatives advertised? Our bodies will heal themselfs and thrive if given the chance to do so without chemical interference. Eating whole organic local foods will make you feel better and avoid colds and flu. We live in one of the best places worldwide as far as quality organic foods if you know where to look, Ive travled the world and have seen firsthand other places and our food here blows all the other places away, so think about what your body is, and what it needs to  maintain vigor health and happiness, you wont find much health from the grocery store these days ...why not grow some for yourself, support local organic farms and see the difference common sense makes and also experience the value of real food, that tastes so much better as well.. so from now on  were going to bring the old coleman stove, pump it up, and cook our own meals roadside. Just think, will save time, money and not be subjected to bland junk food again......peaceoutchickenman

" I very seldom eat fast food and pre prepared foods as I think that is a healthier way to go. But I found the study interesting because it said there was very little difference nutritionally between organic and non organic. Lesson is eat your fruits and vegetables. "

" Researchers from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine said consumers were paying higher prices for organic food because of its perceived health benefits, creating a global organic market worth an estimated $48 billion in 2007.
A small number of differences in nutrient content were found to exist between organically and conventionally produced foodstuffs, but these are unlikely to be of any public health relevance," said Alan Dangour, one of the report's authors. "

" Sending charities money doesn't stop starvation, it just makes them rich. lol capitalism isn't about helping people silly, it's about the financial gain of the individual. If America just took 1 billion dollars out of it's 450 billion dollar war budget... well we could solve a lot of hunger problems both foreign and domestic. It's maddening to me how people are willing to sacrifice their health because it's cheaper to.

" Many of the organic eating people dont get sick since they dont mingle with the general population in Grocery Stores, Restaurants and other such places. Trust me my ex-father in law was the perfect food pyramid organic eating person and is battlilng cancer for the 3rd time. It doesnt prevent everything. As for unpasterized milk enjoy your cow poo and nutrition experts all say milk is not necessary for adults, calcium can be found in less fatty natural foods. "

" World hunger..... I save money and dont waste it on health insurance which may or may not cover me, by eating healthy. We also have donated thousands of dollars worth of produce to food banks and low income seniors so thay also can benifit from altenative diets, that work.....And the slave trade thing??????What that all about????? I work like a slave to produce, but thats my choice and I love it... To each his own...Peaceoutchickenman "

" My health insurance is eating whole organic food, I drink raw milk, 1 gallon daily, dont get sick, just what the doctors dont want. If you like your food processed, preserved, geniticaly modified, mircowaveable for convience, go ahead on,the organic market is growing more and more from folks who benifit and know about prevention thru nutrition and much higher quality, really a no brainer. " I challenge you all to save the money you would spend on organic and use it for charity to feed the people who are to busy trying to survive, to be picky eaters. You want to change the world, lets try feeding everyone else before trying to feed ourselves five star meals. Really, there's many more important things to worry about than getting your fancy little slave trade organic fruits "

" Organic is not as great as people make it out to be. I have had many friends go organic and it does cost more. Even if it was 50 cents that adds up evertime you shop. My uncle got sick from eating organic.I am not going into details but he went to the dr. and after several visits the doc suggested changing eating habits. So he did including no more organic. He is now better then ever. So do not try to convince the rest of us that organic is the best and the cheapest cause it is not. "

Its not so uncommon as you think, lots of folks know what iam talking about and do the best they can eating real foods that are not so hard to produce or find as you may think.
It is hard work being uncommon but worth the effort..Peaceoutchickenman "

All original unit including a small leak in the fuel tank that does not affect stove operation but will occasionally liven-up meal prep time. An all around great gas passer! "

" "Chickenman" thanks for all the great posts... NAIS, farming issues, etc. I've been eating Organic for a few years, joined a local CSA, etc. Yea, it's a little more expensive... although not twice as much. A person can eat pretty cheap when you eat toparamen, etc. I've learned to make cuts elsewere... guess it's all about peoples priorities - nice things or live healthy. Although, I bet the decreased med costs more than make up for the increase in food cost in the long run. "

" The rules I eat by: No food grown with pesticide or chemmy fertilizer. No animal products from animals that didn't live good lives. That means no factory farmed dairy or meat. Current usda organic standards are not high enough to protect animals, so don't count on that when you're shopping for dairy and meat at the grocery. No prepared food with more than five ingredients. Eat mostly plants, eat mostly leaves. Meat is a side dish, not the main dish. For more on this, read In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan. "

" Organic food don't cost twice as much as regular foods, give us a break. I buy all my food from either the farmers market or at city market. It's AMAZING how ignorant people are. Organic or locally grown produce is the best thing we have to better our selves, to make us healthier and in the long run it will lower health care costs in this country. Wal-mart's foods are terrible and their milk is the worst, it's nothing but growth hormones. yeah you'll save money, but you won't live better.

    Buy local, buy organic! "

" Amazed.........FYI.......I own my own farm, pay all my bills on time, never have been on any type of assistance whatsoever.I work very hard and long for every dollar I earn. In fact we donate several thousand dollars worth of produce yearly from our farm to the local food bank. So please before you judge someone get to know the facts,,,And if you look around theres heaps of local organic foods very reasonably priced.....
