GRAND JUNCTION — Wanda Susan Vega, age 50 of Grand Junction, Colo., passed away early Friday morning, July 3, 2009 at her home in Grand Junction.  

Wanda was born Dec. 14, 1958 to Clifton and Carlota (Maestas) Gauthreaux in Montrose, Colo. She spent her childhood and received her education in Montrose. Wanda has resided in Grand Junction for the past six years, moving from Montrose, where she made her home until her time of death. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her precious granddaughter, Loni. 

Survivors include her son, Jorge (Beth) Vega of Montrose; daughter, Lisa Vega of Grand Junction; granddaughter, Loni; brothers, Lyle Gauthreaux of Montrose, Curtis Gauthreaux of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and sisters, Betty Schirr of Broken Arrow, Ruby Atencio of Colorado Springs, Colo., Nancy Brink and Bobbye Horton of Grand Junction, Patsy Martinez of Montrose. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Louis, Lonnie and Joseph. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, In Memory of Wanda Vega, 2754 Compass Dr., Suite 377, Grand Junction, CO 81506. Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colo.
