DELTA — The case against a Delta man accused of killing his baby daughter was continued to 9 a.m. Aug. 24.

On Monday, Daven Beck, 20, waived further advisement on charges of first-degree murder and fatal child abuse in 5-month-old Cady Beck’s death. According to the autopsy report, the infant died last December of multiple, direct trauma, which a Denver pathologist testified in June had been non-accidental.

The defense contends Cady was sick and may have had an adverse reaction to vaccinations.

Beck is also charged with misdemeanor child abuse concerning his stepdaughter, age 2.

According the court in Delta, Beck is to enter a plea on or before his Aug. 24 hearing date.
