Delores married Alan Hatch on Dec. 3, 1960 and to this union two children were born, Greg and Donna. Later they divorced.
Delores pursued the love of her life playing the piano. She also taught herself to play the base guitar and had a wonderful voice. Her music career took her to many wonderful places. She played at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas many times, which was her favorite place and she traveled across the United States playing music. She was a country and western artist and played in the bands with Charlie Pride, T.G. Sheppard, Connie Stevens, Merle Haggard and Hank Williams, Jr. She had her own band and played in many clubs in Albuquerque, N.M. Her favorite song everyone remembers her singing the most was “I’ve Been Everywhere.”
She bought the Hitchin Post Bar in Norwood, Colo. on Dec. 22, 1990. She had many wonderful friends in Norwood. Delores had a sign on her office door, “Dear Abby’s Office.” She never turned anyone away who had a problem or needed a friend or just wanted to sit and visit awhile. A lot of good times and memories were had at the Hitchin Post.
She moved to Montrose in October 2001 and made it her home. She loved to have a garden and enjoyed working in her flower beds. She liked to crochet and made many pretty afghans for all of her family. She was a wonderful seamstress and made many of her children’s clothes when they were younger. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Delores is survived by her mother, Josephine Goff of Montrose; her daughter, Donna and husband Dave Plowman; grandchildren, Kathy, Hayes and Tyler of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter-in-law, Sharon Hatch and granddaughter Heather Hatch of Stockton, Calif.; and granddaughter, Rachel Mills and fiance Ryan Hoak of Yucaipa, Calif.; sister, Dorothy Goff of Montrose, Colo., along with her children, J.W.
