Marie Hogle Williams

GRAND JUNCTION — Marie Hogle Williams, age 89, formerly of Norwood, Colo., passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at Mesa Manor Nursing Home in Grand Junction, Colo. Marie was born April 5, 1920 to Plynn Albert and Bessie (Woodhall) Hogle in Longmont, Colo. Marie grew up in the Coventry and Shenandoah area. The family spent their lives cattle ranching in the Coventry Hill area of Wrights Mesa. Marie married Albert Williams on Aug. 30, 1937 in Telluride, Colo. They celebrated their 60th anniversary. Albert preceded her in death Oct. 28, 1997. Marie was a wonderful homemaker and helped to raise numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. As an employee of the school Hot Lunch Programs, her hot rolls and baked goods were enjoyed by all. She was known to be the best driver and best cow milker in the family. Marie enjoyed driving the school kindergarten bus for a time.  Crocheting and embroidery were a favorite hobby. Her family and friends were all recipients of her fine handiwork. Marie enjoyed traveling and had been from Canada to Mexico and all across the United States. She is survived by her three children: Leonard and wife Sandra Williams, Thomas Williams, all of Norwood, Colo., Bessie Bryant of Vernal, Utah; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service in celebration of Marie’s life will be held on Saturday, Aug.1, 2009, at 1 p.m., at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. The service will conclude at the chapel. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Norwood Cemetery in Norwood, Colo.  Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory, 802 E.
