MONTROSE —Montrose High School basketball player Brian Davidson has been playing ball since he was little.

But playing basketball at the next level has always been in the back of his mind.

This summer, Davidson came one step closer to his dream at only 15 years old, getting a chance to hone his skills and play against some of the best players in the state of California.

Davidson, a 6’8” center for the MHS basketball team, was offered a spot in May to play with Team Chandler, a nationally recognized basketball travel team sponsored by NBA player Tyson Chandler.

“It was just luck,” Davidson said. “He (head coach Jarvis Tuner) just walked up to my dad and I and asked if I was interested in playing for his team. I thought that was pretty cool but didn’t think he would actually call me.”

A few weeks later Davidson received that call.
