MONTROSE — Gwendolyn A. (McNeal) Wiesner, age 93, a resident of the Homestead at Montrose, Colo. since June of 2004, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2009.

Gwendolyn was born to Albert O. McNeal and Mabel (Winder) McNeal on March 6, 1916 in Paradise, Kansas. After High School graduation, she attended College in Hays, Kansas, where she met and married Paul F. Wiesner on Aug. 2, 1937. Her husband, Paul, was accepted into the Army Air Corps in 1942 and for many years they lived the Air Force life, involving many moves, until Paul’s retirement in Colorado Springs in September 1968.

Gwendolyn was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting and hat making. She worked for many years as a Real Estate Agent with Walker Realty in Colorado Springs. After Paul’s retirement, they took up traveling. They especially enjoyed Air Stream Camping with a group of fellow travelers.

Gwen is survived by her three sons, Mr. Gary N. Wiesner of Lake Bluff, Ill. Dr. Paul D. (Phyllis) Wiesner of Montrose, Dr. Mark L. (Jean) Wiesner of Loveland, Colo., and by two daughters, Mrs. Carol F. (Joseph) Luciani of McHenry, Ill., and Mrs. Donna M. (Julian) Anderson of Rocky Point, N.C., and her sister, Mrs. Carol (Lyle) Dixon of Manhatten, Kansas. Gwen is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Gwen will be greatly missed by her large family and many friends.

A Memorial Mass, celebrated by Father Mark Bettinger will be held at 10 a.m., Aug. 22, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Montrose. Arrangements are through Crippin Funeral Home, Montrose.
