Where the river flows
Published/Last Modified on Friday, August 21, 2009 4:12 AM MDT
The Colorado River flows through a valley in western Colorado nearing the Colorado-Utah border. This 25 mile run of Class I to III- whitewater flows through a beautiful canyon in the high desert of western Colorado and eastern Utah, starting just 12 miles west of Grand Junction. The river drops about 140 feet in 25 miles from a starting elevation of 4,440 feet. (Joel Blocker / Daily Press)
