According to the authors of the report, the American College Health Association (ACHA), the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP), and the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists (SGO) all accepted money from Merck and then subsequently promoted the vaccine using practically the same strategy as Merck's marketing department.
One doctor who was part of the testing for Gardasil said that Merck "was able to influence opinion leaders in the medical field to promote the vaccine without presenting any downsides."

The FDA has received reports of as many as 32 deaths associated with the vaccine since September of 2007. But there's now a more recent report, also published in JAMA, which says that the CDC has analyzed as many as 12,000 incidents of adverse side effects caused by this inoculation.
Yet despite the controversy, the ASCCP actually encouraged its membership to lobby "state and federal agencies to pay for the vaccine."
You read that right: a group of doctors was being goaded into practically becoming lobbyists to get the government to start paying for what I can only assume would be mandatory Gardasil vaccinations.
Merck has admitted that it provided $199,000 to the ACHA, $300,000 to the ASCCP, and $250,000 to the SGO to fund "education efforts." I can promise you that this is less money than Merck spent to get their ad agency to generate even one TV commercial for Gardasil.
For less than $1 million, three medical associations peddled their reputations and legitimacy to a pharmaceutical company.
And your daughters and granddaughters are the ones paying the price.

I have some important news for you. I just learned from my cousin, who is studing immunology at Pepperdine, that the HINI vacine for swine flu caused spontaneous abortions in 17 rodents and 3 cats. My cousin, who works closely with the lab animals, spoke to his professor about this, and apparently they don't want to release any statments yet before they do more tests--but I feel it is my mission to get the word out Tonight! Please, help me spread the word and don't let your loved ones get this dangerous vacine.
God bless.

Yes, men get HPV. They just don't typically suffer any problems from it. But where do you think women get it from (and vice versa)? And according to several articles I've read, they are trying to see if Gardasil would work on men.
And yes, in the ideal world chastity and marital fidelity would cure all std issues. But we live in the real world! No one should have to die because they had sex! "

Are you kidding me? We’re not talking about somebody committing a crime and being punished for it! Premarital sex is not (thankfully) against the law, nor are multiple partners. And what if “HA” never finds the right woman (or man) to marry? He/she should never have sex? And if he/she does, he/she should die for it? Please come back to reality… I’m sure someone here misses you. "

All actions (and inactions) have consequences. But that doesn’t mean one should be ignorant to reality. Reality is, the vast majority of people have “interactions” outside marriage. Just because you don’t agree with their choice, doesn’t mean they should have to die because of it! I bet you’d also tell a shooting victim, “oops you should have ducked, but personal responsibly, so now your dead!”
PS: Do some research, they’re trying to get approval to administer Gardasil to men too. "
Personal Responsibility wrote on Sep 2, 2009 6:10 PM:
I guess you didn't read what Michelle said, "Chastity and marital fidelity." She wasn't saying you needed to be celebate. I think you are a male HA, so don't worry, the vaccine isn't for you. Would you prefer to have your teenage daughters show some restraint, or have multiple sex partners? I for one am for personal responsibility, and accepting the consequences of your actions. Actions do have consequences. "

Death solves all those things too! And if given the choice between chastity or death... I'd pick death! It would be much less painful!
Thankfully society does not have to live their lives according to your rules. "

Yes, we're all going to die. So why spend your life in a constant state of paranoia? And if it was only your paranoia, big deal (I know many people who think the government or aliens are out to get them). But YOU push it too far by trying to scare other people into believing the same with your half information and innuendo.
PS: Nothing is wrong with organic foods! Except when you try to scare people into believing if they eat anything but local organic foods they will get sick and/or die. "

Good grief, when will you ever stop Chickenman? Seriously, you need to get a life. Not everything is an evil government plot to kill you. So eat an organic carrot and chill!
PS: Am I the only one who has noticed that organic fanatics always seem to think the government is out to get them? What's up with that? Do organic foods cause paranoia or was the person paranoid to begin with. Hey, it’s like what came first, the CHICKEN or the egg!? "

Remember, this is the same company that rushed Vioxx through the system, and we know how that turned out. Some folks even say Merck's HPV vaccine really stands for "Help Pay for Vioxx."
Here's the answer we should all give them: Not at the expense of our daughters' health. "
