5 accused in Gunnison jail probe

GUNNISON — Five people, including two ranking jail employees and an inmate, are accused of various offenses in alleged misconduct at the Gunnison County Detention Center.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation began a probe earlier this year. Few details about the allegations have been made public and court records have been sealed for 30 days.

Captain Michelle Zadra, 39, and Sgt. Melissa Rogers, 27, were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of first-degree perjury, conspiracy to commit perjury, first-degree official misconduct and false reporting to authorities.

Tawnya Sponable, 25, identified variously as a deputy and a former deputy, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to introduce contraband, conspiracy to commit perjury, first-degree official misconduct, false reporting, theft under $500 and possession of a schedule II controlled substance. She was reportedly free on bond.

Joseph Stromayer, 30, an inmate at the facility, is suspected of introduction of contraband, conspiracy to introduce contraband, conspiracy to commit perjury, third-degree assault, intimidating a witness and conspiracy to intimidate a witness. His wife, Rachel Stromayer, 25, is suspected of conspiracy to intimidate a witness.

    " Without going further-they(police etc)
    will get immunity. Fact verify,please and
    note Supreme court recent rulings-
    ALL judges are immune. 90% prosecutors immune--might be 100% on
    upcoming Hrvol case. All prosecutor has to do is call dfendants/witnesses in-
    vestigators=100% immunity "
