MONTROSE — David Phillip Reed, age 56 of Montrose, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009 at his home. David was born April 30, 1953 to Phyllip and Lorene (Crim) Reed at Montrose. He has spent his life here in Montrose, receiving his education and graduating from Montrose High School. Following High School, David served his country in the United States Navy. At the time of David’s death he was employed at Russell Stover Candies and has been employed there for many years. He loved doing things as a family, and loved the outdoors and arrowhead hunting. David enjoyed board games, chess, cards, scrabble, computer and video games. He was a gentle man who enjoyed the simple things in life. David will be missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his brothers and sisters, Wanda Safken of Montrose, Juanita Reed of Grand Junction, Larry Reed of Olathe, Terry Reed of Montrose and Janet Reed of Montrose; four stepbrothers and three stepsisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Eric Safken. A Memorial Service in celebration of David’s life will be held on Monday, Sept. 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. The service will conclude at the chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colo.
