Robert George Lindstrom

MONTROSE — Robert George Lindstrom was born March 29, 1947 to William Carl and Jane (Blessing) Lindstrom in Tulsa, Okla. Bob spent his childhood in Tulsa, and graduated from The Judson School in Scottsdale, Ariz. He went on to college at Layton School of Art in Milwaukee, Wis. in Photography.

Bob had married and is survived by Mary Lou Gerard Campbell, though they were later divorced. Bob loved Colorado and had recently said the last 10 years he’d spent as a resident of Olathe had been the best of his life. The residents of Olathe and Montrose called our dad “Pizza Bob.” He loved the mountains and sharing his love for them with others with drives every Sunday on the trails of Ouray. He was an accomplished photographer, fantastic cook and a wonderful father! He had served on the Olathe Town Board. Bob had many friends from all different times in his life and he did his best to keep in touch. He enjoyed movies, and was a regular at the Telluride Farmers Market where he made kettle corn. Bob didn’t let life pass him by; he truly lived it.

Survivors include his children, Kristin Blessing (Michael Jablonski) Lindstrom, Jeffery Gerard (Christen McDermott) Lindstrom of Tulsa, Okla., Stephen Roddie (Candice Carles) Lindstrom of Montrose, Colo.; sisters, Susan Blessing Everett of Phoenix, Ariz., Sally Ruth Noland of Tulsa, Okla.; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. 

Bob was preceded in death by brothers, William Carl Lindstrom Jr. and Jere Lewis Lindstrom; parents, William Carl and Jane (Blessing) Lindstrom. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Olathe Skate Park , c/o Bank of Colorado, Olathe, Colo.

A memorial service in celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 10 a.m. today, Sept. 11, 2009,  at the Olathe Fireman’s Hall, 503 Horton St., in Olathe. Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory, 802 E. Main St., Montrose, CO 81401 (970) 249-2121.
