ROBBINSDALE, Minn. — Vallière Anne (Bunny) Puk , 90, Robbinsdale, Minn., died Thursday, July 23, 2009, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Puk. Vallière Anne Kelly was born in Faith, S.D., to Minna and Leo Kelly, on Easter Sunday, April 20, 1919. From then on, she was known as “Bunny.” She graduated from Faith High School and continued her education at Chillicothe (Mo.) Business School. Afterward, she worked as a secretary in the South Dakota State Capitol in Pierre, S.D. It was here that she met and married Frank Puk, a flight engineer in the Army Air Corps. After military service, Frank worked for the Bureau of Reclamation, building hydro-electric dams in South Dakota, Wyoming, Arizona and Colorado. After moving every two to three years, Bunny and Frank settled in Montrose, Colo., where Bunny lived for 40 years. In 2003, with her health beginning to fail, Bunny moved to Copperfield Hill, a senior living facility in Robbinsdale, to be near her daughter Holly and son-in-law Victor Jett. Bunny was always actively involved in her church, community and family. She loved to volunteer, cross-stitch, embroider, crochet, and sing as a member of the church choir and the Kappa Phi Notes. Bunny was always ready to travel. Her favorite place to go was Hisega, a small community in the Black Hills, near Rapid City, S.D. Bunny is survived by her daughter, Holly, and son-in-law, Victor Jett, Jr. of Robbinsdale, Minn.; her son, Richard Puk and daughter-in-law, Donna of Carlsbad, Calif.; her sister, Donna Riedinger of Rapid City, S.D.; nephews, nieces and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 2 p.m., at the United Methodist Church, 19 South Park Ave., Montrose, Colo.
