MONTROSE — Esther D. McCormick, age 56, lifetime Montrose resident passed away early Saturday morning, Sept. 26, 2009 at the Montrose Memorial Hospital.  Esther was born May 30, 1953 to Joe and Frances (Frasier) English at Montrose, Colo.  She was raised in Montrose graduating from the Montrose High School.  Esther married Bob McCormick and have shared 30 years of marriage together.  Esther and Bob owned and operated Valley Processing in Shavano Valley for 22 years before they retired. Esther loved the outdoors, mountains, getting together and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Bob of the family home; her mother, Frances English of Montrose; brother, Joe English and Shirley Thorpe of Montrose, sister, Dianna (Joe) Underwood of Montrose; her twin brother, Lester (Carol) English of Montrose; brother, Alvin English and wife Sue also of Montrose; Bob’s family includes his son, Kurt (Emily) Dotson, and their children, Jessica and Justin of Burlingame, Calif; his sister, Carol Piatt of Phoenix, Ariz; his sister-in-law, Laura Mae McCormick of Utah; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Esther was preceded in death by her father, Joe English.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, in Memory of Esther McCormick, or to the San Juan Cancer Center, In memory of Esther McCormick, c/o of Montrose Memorial Hospital, Attn: Mary Snyder, 800 S. Third St., Montrose, Co 81401.

A Memorial Service in celebration of Esther’s life will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009 at 10:00 am at Grace Community Church on Woodgate Road in Montrose, with Pastor Paul Nystrom officiating.  The service will conclude at the chapel.  Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colo.
