MONTROSE — Lena E. Saville, age 90, a lifetime resident of Montrose, Colo., passed away Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at the Montrose Memorial Hospital. Lena was born April 17, 1919, in Crowley, Colo. to Tony and Elvira (Dicamillo) Keep. As a young child, her family moved to Montrose where she was raised. She grew up helping on the farm with the chores, gardening, livestock and growing crops. Lena would often reflect to her family about her childhood and life on the family farm in Montrose. She married David Krill in 1946, and he preceded her in death in a mining accident in Silverton in 1957. Lena married Gordon Saville on Feb. 25, 1969, in Montrose. Lena was active in her life. She loved to fish, go snowmobiling, dance and play bingo. Lena was a wonderful cook and hostess. She enjoyed tending to her rose garden. She was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother and loved spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Gordon, who resides at Sunrise Creek in Montrose; her children, David D. Krill and wife Judy of Denver, Sharon and husband Eric Huffman of Williston, Fla.; a sister, Rita Giannopulos and husband Nick; and a brother, James Keep and wife Margie; grandchildren, Kory and Miles Bailey, Kelli and Bernie Lange, Mandi Krill and Jennifer Krill; great-grandchildren, John Ryan Gillette, Brittany Janosh, Tommy McKeon, Vincent Lange and Alexander Lange.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, David Krill; her brother, Fred Keep; her granddaughter, Kareena Gillette; and her great-grandson, Matthew Janosh. A funeral service in celebration of Lena’s life will be held on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at 2 p.m., at the Montrose Christian Church, with Pastor Paul Nystrom officiating. The service will conclude at the church. At Lena’s request, cremation will follow the service. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Valley Lawn Cemetery, Montrose.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, P.O.
