Victor 'Vic' Jack Warning Victor 'Vic' Jack Warning Oct. 18, 1920 — Sept. 24, 2009 MONTROSE — Victor “Vic” Jack Warning, age 88, of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away Sept. 24, 2009, at Valley Manor Care Center in Montrose, Colo. He moved to the area in 2005 to be closer to family. Victor was born Oct. 18, 1920 to John “Jack” and Pearl (Jenkins) Warning in Pocatello, Idaho. He graduated from Pocatello High School, then went on to college at the Southern Branch of University of Idaho located in Pocatello and received his Junior College certificate in business in 1940. Vic was a resident of Pocatello for 84 years. Victor married Margaret Kelly Dec. 18, 1942 at the Almeda Air Station in Almeda, Calif. “Kelly” preceded Victor in death in July 2000 in Pocatello. Vic and Kelly made their home on Johnny Creek Road in Pocatello which he built in 1949 out of river rock. Vic loved sitting on his deck overlooking the town. Lieutenant Victor Jack Warning was a Naval Aviator and flight instructor during WWII. He was stationed in Pensacola, Fla; Livermore, Calif; Fallon, Nev.; Astoria, Ore; and Washington, D.C. Victor was an avid golfer, collector of sorts and a proud thrift store shopper, especially good buys on trendy clothing. He enjoyed listening to classical music, watching old movies and golf. Vic enjoyed telling stories and was loved for his charm and wit. After a stroke in 2002, he was a resident of Ridge Wind Assisted Living in Pocatello, The Homestead Assisted Living in Montrose, and final residence at Delta House Assisted Living in Delta, Colo. and was a beloved participant at Senior Community Care (PACE) in Eckert, Colo. Survivors include his son, John Warning and wife Patricia Stetson of Montrose, Colo.; sister, Helen (Jim) Lenon; grandchildren, Christopher “Skip” Dean, Brian (Emalea) Dean, and Emily Dean; and five great-granddaughters. Victor was preceded in death by his wife, Kelly; and sisters, Joyce Pickett and Shirley Kutzman. A celebration of Victor’s life will be held Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at 1 p.m., at the Senior Community Care Center in Eckert with Rev. Steve Frank officiating. At Victor’s request, cremation has preceded the service.
