MHS runners’ host Montrose relays

MONTROSE—The Montrose High School hosted the annual cross country relay meet this Saturday at Columbine Field. Ten schools and 102 runners participated in the relays. Teams of 2 runners alternated running the one mile course three times each for a total of 6 miles per team.

Durango High School came in first for the coed teams. Glenwood High School came in first for the boys relay teams with the Montrose team of Sutton Frey and Michael Theodore finishing fourth and wth Montrose runners Eric Wiard and Thom Allen finishing seventh. The Montrose girls relay team of Allison Martin and Rebecca Long finished first, Jaycee Taylor and Brooke Tobler finished second, and the team of Hanna Bowden and Dana Shellhorn finished fourth.
