Everett F. Stewart GRAND JUNCTION — Everett F. Stewart of Grand Junction passed over to his celestial home on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at the age of 93. He is survived by his son, Ron (Cece) Stewart of Monument, Colo., and two daughters, Donna Donley (Fred Donley, deceased) of Montrose, and Alma (Paul) of Cedaredge. He has two surviving sisters: Helen Leonardelli (97) and Betty Gregg (104), both of Durango. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Edna Luella (Boruff) Stewart. He has eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Everett farmed and ranched in Shavano Valley in Montrose County before moving to Grand Junction in 1962 as owner/operator of the Colorado Motel on 7th and North Avenue. He retired from Mesa College and managed his own apartments. Everett and Luella enjoyed gardening, fishing and boating on Blue Mesa Reservoir, where they had their little get-away place. He was a big man with a big heart, much loved and admired. A visitation for Everett will be held on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, from 3 to 5 p.m., at the Martin Mortuary Chapel. A funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at the Montrose Christian Church in Montrose, Colo., beginning at 10:30 a.m. |
