OLATHE — Three boys who reportedly left the Robert Brown Center in Montrose earlier this week were located in Olathe Tuesday, the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office said.

One of the youths allegedly assaulted a deputy as he was being placed in the patrol unit.

The boys, two of whom are 17 and one of whom is 15, were reported to the Montrose Police as possible escapees. Deputies got a lead that the juveniles might be at a residence on South Seventh Street in Olathe.

The mother of one of the boys met them at the door of the home and indicated the kids were, indeed, inside. She invited the deputies in and pointed them to a back bedroom, where all three youths were located.
