Salazar stands up for working people

Re: Small business owners support reform

As small business owners who are proud to have provided health care coverage to our employees over the years and, despite the current economic downturn, continue to struggle doing so, we applaud Rep. John Salazar’s stand for the working people and against the big health insurance lobby. This year alone our insurance premiums went up 29%. Without competition from a government run public option, as well as a requirement that more of the public be covered, there little incentive for insurance companies to keep rates affordable. Without a passage in Congress of a meaningful health care bill, at these rates of increase, we will soon be unable to provide any medical coverage for our employees at all.
