MONTROSE - State House District 58 spent scarcely 24 hours without a candidate hopeful of filling Rep. Scott Tipton’s shoes.

Local Republican businessman Don Coram told the Daily Press Thursday that he will be filing notification with the state of his intention to run.

Tipton announced Wednesday his intention to run for the 3rd Congressional District. He is vacating his state house seat to do so.

“I intend to run,” Coram, a Montrose native said. He was set to make a formal announcement at the Republican Central Committee meeting in Olathe Thursday night.

" Josh don't sweat the keyboard cowards. But hey let's stay on track here. You were the one that posted and boasted about Scott Tipton "fighting" for our rights. I simply pointed out that your boy Scott has never fought in his life, that I know of for anything. That being said John Salazar has a reputation for fighting for Colorado's land Water and People and is a veteran of the U.S. Army. "

" Third party will never happen. Why don't we discuss Don's business practices over coffee. It takes courage to post your REAL name on something. any coward can rant. Brian. Wrong again. Tipton did not promise not to run for higher office. Also, When did Obama, Pelosi, or Reid serve in the Military? Please feel free to contact me. 970-275-3352 or jdkey101@live.com. "

" Hey Josh, John Salazar has fought for my rights and as the only veteran of military service in the congressional delegation continues to fight for my rights as a veteran. What branch of military service did Scott Tipton serve during the Vietnam war? By the way John Salazar never promised the voters in the 58th that he would not seek higher office like your buddy Tipton did less than a month ago!! "

" I have personally known Don and Dianna for a few years now and it has been a honor to know and work with them. They are hard working conservative christians with an outstanding love for their community and other people. I will support Don 10000% for HD58. Mr. Ahern, great idea. Why don't you suggest the same to John Salazar. Biggest difference between him and Tipton is that Scott has actually worked while in session and fought for our rights. Where has John been? My personal email is jdkey101@live.com. "

" Scott Tipton ought to do the right thing and resign from office. How are we in the 58th going to be represented, by an individual who is too busy running for Congress? "
