Hey just want to Thank GOVERNOR RITTER for more than doubling my license renewal fee since last year.   Its a vehicle from 1991 that normally costs $27 to renew it is now $60+ to renew.  Not much but when considering personal income was decreased almost 20% this year its a hit.   I will be sure to remember him come election day.    Hope you do the same.

I take comfort in knowing that I actually contributed less in vehicle tax dollars after Ritter's increase, than I had paid on all five vehicles last year. I'll remember Ritter in November. "

just pay it and quit crying about the reality of the world we live in or you can live in a cave in Afghanistan and not have to worry about how much that SUV will cost to register or taxes at all. "

" So if we don't tax how do we pay for roads, schools, police, fire dept, social services for the poor, disabled? Oh that is right, everyone can earn $50,000yr with benefits and care for themselves. I have children, a mortgage, and a job and I pay my share to provide services to the elderly who can't work, low income workers who need healthcare, children who need education/lunch tickets/after school care. Yes, WE pay for all that. Democrat or Republican-who cares when you can't feed your children, get a job or your car falls off a failing bridge!!! "

I fix it myself so I don't have to pay. No disposable income. My kids won't have much of a Christmas because of all the "little" taxs here and there. But welfare bought a woman in front of me lots of pop and candy for her kids. Thanks "

" To all of you who think this tax hike was a good thing "to build and maintain roads and bridges". Ummmm, hate to tell you this but 0.46 of each gallon of gas we buy here in the state goes to just that. Or is supposed to. Ritter and Denver steal our tax money and don't let us maintain our roads. If you don't believe me look at the pump the next time you fill up. It is posted. "

" More government means more taxes. It's that simple. Don't cut spending heaven forbid. I know lets raise vehicle registrations two to three times from the year prior and call it a fee not a tax. I know lets go after the Workers Compensation surplus that belongs to the workers in this state to protect them. Oh by the way don’t forget the dividend checks that go back to business out that amount. They are only the ones who been have been paying into it. "

    " Hey Judyj,
What is it that I'm wrong about? What all you "tax lovers" don't understand is that this country needs the middle class to have what is called "disposable income". This is the money left over from our paychecks after our government takes 25-30 percent out in income taxes. Now, for all of you tax lovers, this means that businesses will go under because people aren't spending. When businesses go bankrupt the employees get laid off. Just look at main street. "

They did raise the renewal fee's and not just because you are late. I will say this, American's should be concerned where our country is going. All of you who love this administration will see, things are going to change alright....change for the worst. On that note, I would love to have the "people's jobs" that love all these tax increases!! Apparently it's not affecting you. "

" Poor Sap, and yes that is called "reality." If you don't want to pay the tax, get rid of your car and you would no longer have to pay the tax. If you want a car to get around in, then you have to pay to have roads built and maintained. Or is it you feel everyone else but you should have to pay the tax? Things don't happen for free. When you work, you expect to get paid. So do the people building and maintaining the roads. "

Even more proof of my opening salvo to this blog..If we need to pay more registration taxes on our vehicles to "build roads and bridges", then where are the income taxes, property taxes, sales taxes, and federal taxes going? American voters are chumps who hire politicians that think spending, taxing, and us paying more is the way to go. Keep voting the same folks...It sure is working ... "

If you don't llike few taxes you pay for the "socialist" system (yes, that evil word) of public roads, fire and police departments, libraries, etc., try paying for the cost of building and maintaining our infrastructure if this were all privatized. Then you might just have something to complain about. "

The "Reality" is that we are taxed like crazy. I'm (would not let me submit original word) not happy about it . WEBSITE coloradofaster.com money is not going to Montrose bridges. "

A little spoiled? Well let me tell you that if you know how it is to actually strive to make a living, you would care. Nobody said anything about not wanting to pay their bills, it is just stressful that the debts get higher and our wages stay the same, or like a lot of us, lost hours. "

Oh, and stop blaming President Obama and Governor Ritter; they're not the dictators dubya said he wanted to be. You are truly "in better hands," but you just won't open your eyes. Chill . . . . "
