Re: Pirates football meaningful

We have had the honor of attending several Olathe High School football games in the past two years. These young men know the meaning of friendship, team and respect. What a joy to watch them.

After the heartbreaker Saturday, they gathered as a team and friends to console each other. After a few minutes, they came in front of their fans and sang their school song. What respect to fans.

As we walked across the football field to reach our cars, we had the opportunity to meet several of the players. We told them they had a good game; in return, they thanked us for attending. I did not know some of these players personally. Olathe should be proud of its team; we’re proud to say we’re from Olathe, Colo.
