Local seniors recognized for service

MONTROSE ” Saturday was a time to thank those in the community that give their time to help others.

“This year’s luncheon is to recognize the senior volunteers for their service in 2008,” Montrose RSVP volunteer coordinator Rhea Gano said.

On Saturday, RSVP Colorado West held a volunteer recognition luncheon at the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints in Montrose.

“I think we all need to help one another ” certainly people have helped me,” 12-year volunteer Pat Conkling said. “I love this community and (volunteerism) is what Montrose is about.”
