CEDAREDGE—The Olathe Pirates' experience showed Thursday evening as they cruised past league rival Cedaredge in dominating fashion.

Olathe took 13 out of 14 matches from the Bruins on their way to a 74-6 victory. The win gives the Pirates' their 17th victory in dual action this season and a 3-0 mark in the Western Slope League.

"The kids wrestled really well tonight," said Olathe High Head Coach Harvey Starbuck. "Their (Cedaredge) a team with little experience, but I do give them credit for being scrappy."

Starbuck noted that the Bruins, despite their inexperience, didn't allow the Pirate wrestlers any easy victories.

Olathe recorded eight pinfalls, two technical falls, one major decision and two forfeits on the evening.

Winning by pinfalls were: Ben Pridy (103), Nate Brown (112), Dylan Markley (135), Kris Nieto (145), Kyle Piatt (152), Zach Stansberry (160), Josh Kelso (189) and Casey Childs (285).

OHS' Zach Shank (119) and Brenton Martinez (130) both won by technical falls, while Camren Harris (171) won with a major decision. The Pirates also received two forfeits at (125) and (215).

"Our guys worked hard through all their matches," Starbuck said. "We got up and down their lineup pretty well."

Up next for the Pirates will be two home duals this Saturday.

The Pirates will square-off with Coal Ridge at 1 p.m., followed by a late afternoon dual with Grand Valley.

Starbuck admitted that these duals will present a tough challenge, especially, because their the last duals they'll have before the regional tournament.

"These are going to be a couple of tough duals this weekend," Starbuck said. "Grand Valley has a few guys that are ranked in the top-five. It's also the weekend before regionals and going head-to-head with some of these guys will help our seeding."
