Sophomores Tawni Middleton and Kylie Tait stepped up in the first half, Althaus said. Middleton had four rebounds and seven assists, while Tait had five rebounds and seven steals.
Morgan Stansberry also "attacked the board," he said, and had 10 rebounds.
Coming out in the second half, the Lady Pirates continued to dominate despite Aspen's pressure.
"We don't see a press very often in our league and it's good for us to work under that kind of pressure," Althaus said.
The Lady Pirates extended their lead and held onto it into the fourth quarter. They outscored Aspen in the fourth 12-5.
Contributing to the victory was Middleton with 17 points, Emily Brummitt with 14 points, Stansberry with 13 points, Tait with 10 points, and Bretta Prosser and Maddie Byers both with four points.
The Lady Pirates hit the road Thursday to face off against Gunnison.
The Olathe boys basketball results weren't available at press time.
