Planning Technician
County of Ouray is seeking a Planning Technician reporting to the County Planner. Position is
responsible for supporting the Land Use Department through a wide variety of administrative and planning functions. Position supports County Planner in the processing of land use applications, research and documentation,
organizing and
conducting evening planning commission meetings
including minute
taking. Position also responsible for day to day support of the Building Official
including processing building permit applications, database entry, tracking and reporting. Minimum requirements; must have a high school diploma or GED.
Associates or Bachelors Degree in planning, or related preferred. A minimum of four year’s experience in an administrative support role, preferable in a real estate, planning or zoning related environment is a plus. (combination of education and experience may be substituted). This position is a 40 hours per week, benefits
included. Compensation: $33,384 to $42,531 annually, depending upon

John Harold Enterprises is looking for 100 temporary field laborers in Montrose and Delta counties: Work areas are from the east side of Montrose to the south side of Delta County. Job entails walking thru fields (5-6 miles per day), picking corn from stalk (16,000 ears per day) & putting corn on harvester or in boxes. Load agricultural products onto trucks. Participate in sorting, grading and storage of crops. Job also includes weeding, rock picking, irrigating, cleaning, loading, fence & building repairs. Work is in fields and temperatures vary between 60 degrees and 98 plus in the afternoon and is conditional on weather. Work tools and equipment will be provided. A short demonstration of experience as a vegetable farm worker and one verifiable reference required. Applicant must be motivated & reliable, commit to work entire season from April 1, 2010 thru November 1, 2010. Hours and days of work will vary and may include fewer than 40 hours or more than 40 hours per week and start at 6:00 am, weekend work is required. _ of contract guaranteed. Adverse Effect Wage Rate is $7.87 an hour. This is an H2A visa position, gov't. inspected housing will be provided for workers who cannot reasonably return to their permanent residence at the end of the workday. Transportation and subsistence expenses to the worksite will be provided or paid by the employer upon completion of 50% of the work contract, when employer housing is provided.
