Assault plea tendered

MONTROSE — Joseph Ghini was approved to be released to work with his father in Kansas after entering an assault plea Monday.

Ghini, one of three men accused in what the sheriff’s office called a home invasion last year, pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal trespass as a class-5 felony and third-degree assault.

Under the terms of his plea agreement, he is to receive 30 months probation.
