Former deputy DA pleads to DWAI

A former Montrose deputy district attorney has pleaded guilty to an alcohol-related traffic offense, according to the Montrose Combined Court.

John “Lou” Mehlig pleaded guilty on Wednesday to driving while ability impaired. He had been charged with DUI and careless driving after a traffic accident last year, when he was still employed by the 7th Judicial District’s district attorney.

Sentencing is May 1.
