High-speed chase ends in head-on crash

COLONA - A Colorado State Patrol chase reaching top speeds of 101 mph Wednesday afternoon ended south of Colona when the driver of a stolen dairy pickup truck crashed head-on with an oxygen delivery truck.

Both drivers escaped with minor injuries.

Jose G. Lopez, 35, of Olathe, was arrested for possession of suspected methamphetamine, felony eluding, reckless driving, auto theft and various other traffic charges, said Colorado State Patrol Sgt. C.D. Clark. Lopez is also being held for a $50,000 arson warrant out of Idaho.
