The 16th Annual Grand Mesa Summit Challenge Dog Sled Race will take place Jan. 22 and 23.

The event is located at the Grand Mesa National Forest at the Mesa Top Trail on Highway 65, which is 20 miles north of Cedaredge.

The race site is near the intersection of Highway 65 and Land’s End Road.

The eight-dog sprint class will start at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22 and Sunday, Jan. 23, followed by the six-dog sprint class and other scheduled races. The event will run until 1 p.m. on both days.

Entries close at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 19. Entries after the deadline will be placed at the end of the start order, as they are received. Entry fees range from $25 to $45.

The event is presented by the Rocky Mountain Sled Dog Club and Chow Down Pet Supplies.
