Reports of shots fired brought police to the 400 block of South San Juan Avenue Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 14.

No injuries were reported and one male is in custody; his name was not immediately available.

The incident caused a reverse 911 call to go out to nearby residents, asking them to shelter in place while police investigate.

Residents are being asked to stay clear of the area for now.

Tuesday's shooting was the second in 24 hours.

Police are also investigating shots fired on East Locust Road on Monday night, Sept. 13, although Montrose Police Chief Blaine Hall says this incident is not thought to be connected to Tuesday's. Preliminary information is that two people may have been involved.
