The Montrose Center for the Arts will be hosting its grand opening this weekend.
The non-profit recently rented some space to call its own at 11 S. Park Ave., Montrose. The new creative space celebration will take place 4-8 p.m., Saturday, May 4.
The organization was founded in June 2015 and “promotes the excellence of all art forms in Montrose.” The non-profit hosts a variety of events from pop-up galleries to fundraisers and art competitions, to name a few.
The new space has a gift shop, classroom, conference room, kitchen and offices. Currently there’s a variety of work from local artists on display, and art from Montrose County School District students.
“It’s so wonderful to see all of the artists come in and so pleased that they have a place to show their work,” MCA President and Founder Jodine Broscovak said. “So many of the public have been in that didn’t know who we were, and said they were so thrilled that there was an art center now in Montrose. Which of course was thrilling for us.”
Broscovak said they will be celebrating and that the space has finally come to be. The community should come out to see the art, the facility and learn about the other opportunities the organization offers, she added.
As previously reported, the facility has space available for rent for public and private events. There is a full kitchen available. There is also an office and walls for art available to rent.
“It’s a party, everyone loves a party,” Broscovak said.
