At the end of September we have a great opportunity to come together as the body of Christ during the national event “See You at the Pole.” See You at the Pole was really influential on my life because I was able to see that I wasn’t the only person praying for my school. It also helped me to recognize there were other Christians in my school.
Not only this, but I can remember the great time of prayer that I had with my parents as they stood with me and prayed for my school. In some of my schools, I can even remember standing across from teachers, coaches and my principal, praying for God to work in our school.
More than anything, See You at the Pole opened up my heart to the needs of youth on campus.
I believe if we stand in the gap together, praying for our students, schools and nation, God will do something incredible and we will see real change.
There is power in prayer, and now more than ever God is asking us to take a stand for our country and for our students. Our students are faced with many different issues every day: suicides rates are at an all-time high, depression is more prevalent, students are facing addictions and bullying continues to be a growing problem. Now more than ever, our students need you and me praying with them and for them.
Scripture says there is power in corporate prayer. When we gather together to pray, it not only strengthens us in our faith, but it is powerful for our community.
Matthew 18:20 says, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I with them.”
What an incredible thought to understand that God is right there with us as we pray. With that being said, I want to encourage you to join with us as we meet throughout the community to pray for our schools, students, and our nation. We would love to have you join us at the flagpole at a local school on Sept. 26
