MONTROSE - Aaron L. Johnson, age 32, of Montrose, died on Thursday, June 9, 2005, at the Montrose Memorial Hospital.
Aaron, the son of Randolph E. Johnson and Saundra Johnson, was born on April 7, 1973, in Denver, Colo. He spent the first three years of his life in Evergreen, Colo., then moved with his family to Hill City and McPherson, Kan., for a short time. At the age of 14, Aaron relocated to Virginia where he completed his education.
At age 19, he came to Colorado where he spent a couple years. He then returned to Virginia for several years before deciding to make his home in Colorado permanently in January of 2002.
Aaron was a third generation electrical contractor.
On June 26, 1999, Aaron was united in marriage with Vicki Berry in Hampton, Va.
Aaron loved life with a passion. The outdoors was his life, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a great indoor cook and outdoors barbecuing. His desserts were heavenly. It was such a pleasure to know Aaron. The pain of losing you is intense, and the grief we feel is often hard to handle. The specialness we shared with you can never be replaced. We want you to know we will always remember.
Surviving family members who were so grateful to share Aaron's life include his wife, Vicki Johnson, of Montrose; his mother, Saundra Huntington, of Hampton, Va.; his father, Randolph Johnson Jr. and stepmother, Lucinda Johnson, of Montrose; grandparents, Marjorie Johnson, of Denver; Leon and Cora Fink, of Hill City, Kan.; four sisters: Cheryl (Jim) Frazee, of Brighton; Michele (Porky) Taylor, of Hampton, Va.; Patti (Russell) Klein, of Pennsburg, Pa.; and Ebie Blackburn, of Villanova, Pa. Aaron was a beloved and cherished uncle to Bo, Travis, Josh, "Sweetpea" Kaila, Tara, Brooke, Brandon, Maxwell, Amie and Abigail. And, of course, his pride and joy, his pets: Arrowhead, Dakota, Sierra and No-name.
Aaron was preceded in death by his two grandfathers: Randolph Johnson Sr. and Vernal Huntington.
Visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Monday, June 13, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Crippin Funeral Home Chapel in Montrose. Cremation will follow the visitation.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Aaron's life will be officiated by Pastor Larry Zirschky on Tuesday, June 14, at 3 p.m. at the Crippin Funeral Home Chapel. The service will conclude at the chapel.
