Big Ken passed away at his home 9-27-18 in Montrose, Colorado.
Born in Blair, Nebraska on Jan. 17, 1950 to Jesse Jay and Charlene Suttle, he joined his two brothers and two sisters, who proceeded him in death. He is survived by his younger sister, Susan Suttle.
He grew up in Aurora, Colorado, before moving to Montrose as a journeyman/carpenter. He worked heavy and high jobs while doing dam work on Crystal and Ridgway Dams through Carpenters local #244. In 1998, Ken and his friend James Montano, went to Washington to work on the South Toutle Dam to capture Mt. St. Helens’ ashes from the river. When he returned to Colorado, he went to work on MMH, Delta Memorial Hospital, Laybourne residence on Species Mesa and the last place he built was the Montrose Justice Center.
Big Ken is survived by his wife Dianna (Diann); daughter, Tressa Nichols-Smalley and son-in-law Matthew Smalley; nieces Merry (Max) Gollasch, Jayline Archer Thomas (Enrique); nephews John (Lorie) Graham, Jay (Jody) Graham; great-nieces, Madison and Emily Thomas, Jayme, Hayley, and Kendall Graham; great-nephews, Joe (Stephanie) and Patrick (Ashley) Gollasch, Eric ( Lanai) Graham; great-great nephews, Colton and Nathan Gollasch; great-great nieces, Rylee, Carmen and Devina Gollasch; cousin Bruce and Rachel Hinel; friends Richard Salanky, Derald Burns, Diane Bruce, Kim Harris and many more!
Celebration of life was held at Town Hall Tavern 5-25-19 with Coral Skye performing, with nacho bar.
Sunday 5-26-19 a barbecue and burying Cookie Monster was held at 13401 Marine Road.
Everyone was invited to come celebrate with Ken’s family.
