If I were asking the questions...

"Ms. Hicks, you previously testified under oath, you told 'white lies' for the president. But, he's the most powerful leader in the world!"

I can't help wondering, therefore, why would you think any kind of lie be necessary or wanted? What's the justification for telling a lie, white or otherwise? What makes telling simple truth, dangerous, unnecessary or advantageous for the President of the United States?"

To be perfectly open and honest, Ms. Hicks, the only reason I can think of is,... lying will help deceive the president's supporters and the world. But, remember, Ms. Hicks, 'Truth will out.' "

That's what I would ask/say to Ms. Hicks. Of course, I'm not a powerful congressional leader. I'm just an ordinary citizen who believes "honesty is the best policy"... the one policy absolutely necessary for a democracy.

Robert Reich is alright by me

I take issue with the effort to defame my favorite columnist, Robert Reich, in Sunday's paper. He is not only a noted economist, but a very popular university professor, lecturer, and noted former Secretary of the Treasury. I look forward to his continued inclusion in our local paper and resist the effort to promote a local group think.

Are many of the Dems tired of acting un-American?

Have they learned a simple truth yet, just because you don’t like something or somebody, that doesn’t make it go away? In their childish attack on President Trump we have witnessed an un-American episode of playground politics from our supposedly equally invested adult partners in managing this self-rule miracle we call America!

How sad that we have lost over two years of this unique partnership that has shown the World how intelligent Humans can handle the self-rule responsibility that insures a successful government and a grand lifestyle for serious adults. Of course our European neighbors are still dealing with the “group think” of socialism and failing to satisfy the“independence” most adult humans need to have full lives.

Those societies that have endured Socialism successfully represent “totalitarian regimes” ensure their success by eliminating anyone that disagrees. Only corruption and exploitation at the highest level of responsibility allows continued survival until honesty and human pride eventually destroys these undeniable dictatorships of abuse.

With our latest communication excesses it is now possible to ignore the truth of your political existence just as long as you only listen to a myriad of accepted sources as dictated by an irresponsible political leadership. Our freedom of speech and thought has been prostituted by schoolyard bullies so that there is no automatic guarantee of authenticity or honesty in regards to the information you need to draw an honest conclusion.

The only hope remains that generations of satisfied American citizens have inherited those unique gifts of independence and personal freedom, unavailable just about anywhere else on Earth. In our rush to succeed we have overlooked the value of passing on this heritage to many of our youth who now represent a significant political force willing to attack your America’s political success! Hopefully, the stars and stripes will always be more to Americans than just a flag!
