Dates for the Montrose High School basketball playoff games have been set, and the boys and girls teams will both host a game this week.

The boys, ranked 20th, welcome the 45-seed Kennedy Commanders at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The Indians will enter the contest having finished the regular season 14-9 and 6-2 in SWL. Meanwhile, the Commanders come in with a 10-13 record.

The Lady Indians received a first-round bye as the No. 6 seed. They’ll play the winner of the Battle Mountain-Harrison contest on Friday — the time of the game has not been announced yet.

The Montrose girls squad enters its first playoff game as the Southwestern League champions. Despite MHS finishing with the same 5-3 league record as Fruita Monument and Grand Junction, the Lady Indians won the tiebreaker based on head-to-head results.

Montrose was 3-1 against the other two teams. Grand Junction was 2-2, and Fruita was 1-3.
